While the state of Idaho does not have a state ethics commission, the Attorney General''s Office provides external oversight on ethical issues, in addition to Idaho''s ethics law. The Attorney General has drafted a manual entitled 'Idaho Ethics in Government Manual,'' which includes the Ethics in Government Act.

The City of Boise Ethics Commission issues advisory opinions, hears inquiries, and publishes findings and recommendations regarding alleged violations of the city's ethics policy by city employees and elected officials. The commission also works in consultation with the offices of the City Attorney and Human Resources. The City of Boise Ethics Handbook outlines the city''s code of ethics.
